Well, our house is almost finished and hopefully we will be closing toward the end of this month! It's wierd to think that we will have our very own home again.

This will reallistically be one of the first of many pictures of this little girl! She already has everyone wrapped around her finger. As is the case with all of the grandkids, really, but there is something wonderful about new babies! We love you baby Maddy!

This is my newest neice. Baby Madeline Jane Eerkes came on Monday morning around 12:50 a.m. She is the sweetest thing and I don't think she could be loved any more than she is! Congratulations Dan, Kim and Ambree! We love you lots and can't wait till we get to snuggle her again!!!!

p.s. there is nothing like the smell of a new baby! And you forget just how quiet they are. They don't run around screaming NNNNOOOO!

So we have had a lot going on lately. Our house has the stucco and rock on now and is primed and ready for paint. It is so fun to watch everything we have picked out come together in real life! We go down at least once a week and just walk around in awe of how fast it seems to be coming together! While we have been EXTREMELY blessed to have such a beautiful home to live in(with the best roomies in the world-my parents) we can't wait to get into our house.

The girls are talking more and more everyday and it is so funny to hear them try and mimic everything we say. They are at about 17 words each and should only be at 7-9. This is such a fun age, even though we are now getting into the fits and Emerie has decieded that when she gets mad, she goes down to her knees. Even though I try to ignore it, it is still hard not to laugh. They have also started fighting a little bit with each other. If anybody has any suggestions on how to deal with that, let me know! I try to stay out of it and just let them work it out, but we don't live in fairytale land and it usually ends up with Addy taking off with something Emerie had and Emerie is now crying! They are tons of fun though too and love it when their cousins come to play. Especially Bee or Lukey!

For Valentine's Matt surprised me with a table all set up in our house and made me breakfast on a camp stove. He had it all decorated and everything. He is so good to me and I feel so lucky to be married to him. He also just got a pretty big promotion at work and so we celebrated by leaving the girls for their first leepover with Mimi and Papa. We went to the Grand America and walked around the Gateway and ate at PF Changs. YYYYUUUUMMMMMMYYYY! It was nice to just relax with each other and know that the girls were in great hands!

My mom, Robyn and I threw a baby shower for Kim that turned out really great! We had yummy mini quiches, mini cupcakes, salad, mini cookies and a fun party favor of a candy bar. It was so much fun to put together and do this for her and Dan(and they got a good haul of gifts for the bubby!) She still hasn't had her and everyday we keep hoping to get "the call."

So nothing too new has happened lately. Our house is framed, the windows are in and we meet with the superintendant tomorrow. It's coming along nicely but I wish it would just be done!!! The people we will live next to are from my home ward and they get to move in this week. I am trying so so so hard not to be too jealous:)

The girls are doing great and getting bigger and we are finally about ready to make the transition to forward facing car seats. I know, I know, they are teeny, they should have done this at a year, but are just getting to the weight requirement. The Dr. said they will be tall and skinny if they keep growing like this, which is good for them:) I guess time will tell! They are talking constantly and are way above average with how many words they know right now. (I have bragging rights, right?)

We have had some beautiful sunshine this week and decided to go out and take a ride on Papa's toy. Emerie doesn't love the 4-wheeler and usually wants to get off, but Addy, our little adventurer was laughing while we were driving along.

Anyways, I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your 2009 year. We are anxiously awaiting the birth of a new neice, coming to Dan and Kim's and a new nephew, to Mike and Kelsey. Both babies are coming in March and we can't wait. It will be interesting to see how the girls act around the babies. We will definately have to keep a close eye on them(especially Addy!!!)

I know, I totally look like a pro right?!?!

So, for New Years, we had the cabin this year so we packed up the house(literally, I swear) and bundled up for a long weekend with my family, minus Kim and Dan, who was sick. We got up there and it was fairly warm(I use that term loosely!) So we loaded all our stuff in the rangers and tobbogans and up the mountain we went. We had an aweesome weekend of snowmobiling, sledding, and I even tried snowboarding for the first time. Neither of the girls LOVED the snow, but Emerie would at least try to walk in it. She didn't like sledding, but Addy didn't seem to mind it. It is so funny how different they are and it has been so fun to watch them grow and develope. Anyways, it was an awesome time, as usual and we loved spending time with everyone and are greatful for the memories that we get to make up at the cabin!!! Happy New Year everyone!
